Things Moms Should Do To Have Better Breast Milk

Hi, there! As a new mom again for the third times, I couldn't help myself from not talking about babies and babies. After my third son got jaundice on his first days of life, I realize that better breast milk is very important. Yes, every mom knows but not every mom succeed in breast feeding, including myself.

Learning from my mistakes, I found some ways to make my breast milk abundant. Well, not that abundant, but better in quantity and, I hope and pray, in quality.

If only every baby were born with a manual book, I would follow the rule. But, unfortunately there isn't such a book. So, I follow the traditions and what the experts say. Here are some ways to get better breast milk based on my experience.

Get Enough Sleep

It is really true. When you have a baby, get enough sleep. Not only during the night but also during the day. The words 'Baby sleeps, mom sleeps' is 100% correct.

When I didn't have enough sleep, I found my breasts were weak and produced less milk. And you know, less milk means cranckier baby. I get assistance here every working day, so I don't do any laundry nor ironing nor washing the dishes nor moping the floor. Lucky me, I guess. Alhamdulillah.

Only on Sundays I do some of those works, but due to the condition I lessen my target. I prefer to have a little messy house rather than a crancky baby.

Eat Green Veggies

My mom says that the darker the color of the veggies the better. I agree with that. Tradition tells me to eat more green veggies. I found that green chinese cabbage is good for my breast milk. I can have it almost every day. I don't care whether I will get bored or not.

Along with that, don't forget to drink enough water. Experts say moms with babies should drink 14 glass of water a day.

Stress-Free Yourself

Yes, yes. Make yourself comfortable every time. Eat good food, lessen physical activity, get enough sleep, entertain yourself, think positively is good for moms with newborn. Believe me, those hormones have something to do with the milk produce.

Don't ever think that by avoiding some activities and lessen your target means that you are lazy. Don't. It won't last forever, right? As soon as your baby starts eating there will be more time to get back to your activity. Also don't listen to negative comments from anybody. Close your ears tight from those. Enjoy your life and your baby's smile.

Well, those are 3 ways I do to get better breast milk. Any moms out there have the same experience?

Teaching Kids About Hajj, Not Only Fun But Also Surprising!

Early in this September, my sons, Mr. Inventor and The Professor went on a hajj teaching ritual class. It is an annual class conducted by the regional teaching department. There were more than one thousand students from15 different elementary schools. It took place at the local square.

This year is special for us because male students had to wear ihram, a clothing of male hajj pilgrims. I was imagining it would be great as kids would learn almost the real hajj would like. The last year class didn't obligate male students to wear ihram, just white clothing.

Surprisingly, Mr. Inventor refused to attend the class.

"I will not go," he said.

"Why not?" I asked.

"I just don't want to."

Okay...it became a problem for me. I needed to find out what caused him not to. Mr. Inventor is 9-year-old now, so I think it is common for such a boy to feel uncomfortable about something new. Perhaps he wanted to look good with the ihram.

I persuaded him to go. I told …

My Siblings And I

It's the three of us. Yes, we are siblings. I'm the middle child. I have an elder sister and a younger brother. Both of them live close to our mom in Jogja. My Sister
It's so funny to remember our childhood. We were, actually, not good siblings. I seemed to always had arguments and fights with my sister. I didn't like her and I think that she didn't like me either. It's understandable as she's only 2 years older than me. My sister and I shared the same room for years. We had a big table in our room for us to study. It was the only thing, I guess, that we agreed to share. The rest were things that we called 'mine' and 'yours'. The next funny thing is I missed my sister once after she left home for college. She had to stay in Solo for her bachelor degree. She returned home once a month or so and that made me felt lonely. Then I started to miss her. And the feeling got bigger when she got married. My sister is a tough person. She lives with…

Beautiful Hijabs From Hidden Pearls [A Review]

Last December I went home to Jogja for a holiday with my family. It was an end-of-semester holiday actually and I spent most of the days with my kids while my husband came later. We stayed at my mom's house which used to be the place I live through my younger years. Coming home and enjoy the atmosphere of romanticism of the past is always wonderful. I took my sons to places I'd like them to see so that they can learn something new. And they would be able to get to know their mom better. I showed them my high school, the local library I used to go, even my elementary school reports.
