Learning Chinese Mandarin: A New Beginning

Post a Comment

I am learning a new language. It is Chinese language, or we call it Mandarin. I can not stop learning it now.

I spend a lot of time learning the language. I'm so addicted to it. I can't stop it. Now, even if I had to stay awake until late night, I do not mind.

I started learning Chinese language back in 2003. It was 21 years ago. I invested my first salary as a new worker for learning a new language.

It's been 21 years And I have forgotten lots of it. I only remember some simple words and the memorable ones. Then I found an app that offers a fun way to learn Chinese language. I have to admit that it was my son who re-introduced me to the app.

It was Is Ramadan. My Mr. Professor learnt something with his cell phone.

"What are you up to?" I asked him.
"I'm learning Russian language" he answered.
I asked him again, "What you're using?"
He answered, "Duolingo."

All of a sudden I really wanted to install the application on my cell phone.

Mr. Admiral who found out that I had installed the app said that he wanted to learn Indonesian language.

"Are you sure?"
"Yes."
"But, you can speak Indonesian."
"I'm not good at it."

He thinks he's better in speaking English than in the Indonesian language.

Then Mr. Admiral ended up in learning two languages: Indonesian and English. I myself later decided to re-learn Mandarin Chinese language.

Several days have gone and I found myself so much into it. The app is so helpful. I recap the words that I had already known in the past, and I can understand a sentence.

The structure of Chinese language is simple, but not with its pronunciation. It is so hard to differentiate between ch, c, zh, z, s, sh, j, q. I really have to learn about them.

I think I can start to learn a new language again. And I don't think I'm wasting my time. It's been 67 days. I hope I can write a short simple passage in Chinese language. Let's hope so.
